This is a hybrid investor and AI agent builder role. You will source and evaluate deals, write memos and market maps, run diligence and build AI agents and internal workflows that let a small team punch above its weight. It is not an ops role. It is not a pure investor role. This role sits where venture judgment, crypto-native research and AI agent-enabled execution meet. We want someone who excels at all three.
As a full-time remote role, you’ll work directly with the partners on live deals. Your work will be read by founders, LPs and co-investors. The bar is high. The feedback loop is fast.
What you’ll do
- Source early-stage opportunities across crypto infrastructure, DeFi, agent-native products, AI x crypto, fintech, post-quantum security and consumer/social
- Triage inbound, track pipeline and surface companies before they become mainstream
- Write investment memos, market maps, competitive landscapes and diligence summaries that hold up under partner scrutiny
- Run founder diligence and reference work
- Build and maintain AI agents and internal tools for dealflow triage, research synthesis, candidate filtering and portfolio monitoring. This is core to the role, not adjacent to it
- Improve how we evaluate founders, deals, and candidates
- Support portfolio companies with research and market work
Who you are
- Ambitious, curious and sharp.
- Deeply interested in venture investing, especially in crypto. You read primary sources, not summaries.
- AI-native and a builder. You’ve shipped real things with frontier models, e.g. agents, pipelines, tools, scrapers, synthesis workflows. You have opinions about which patterns actually work in production and which ones look good in a demo and break in real use.
- A strong independent researcher who forms real views and can defend them / update them when wrong.
- Comfortable going deep on technical topics (cryptography, consensus, ZK, agent infra) and commercial topics (market sizing, GTM, unit economics) in the same week.
- An eloquent and concise writer. You can compress a complicated company into a page without losing what matters.
- High agency, low ego. You unblock yourself, ask for help when stuck, don’t need to be managed.
- You want to work closely with a small team that holds itself to a high standard.
- Able to work remotely.
- Ability to travel to the US frequently, or based in / willing to work US timezone hours.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in crypto, startups, technical research, or investing.
- A public body of work: writing, a podcast, open-source contributions, agents or tools you’ve shipped, a thesis you’ve published.
- Technical fluency sufficient to read contracts and prototype tools end-to-end.
- Existing network in crypto founder or research circles.
Why this role
- You’ll be in the room for real investment decisions from week one, not parked on a market map for six months.
- You’ll work directly with founders building at the actual frontier of crypto and AI.
- You’ll build the AI agent systems a modern fund should have.
- Small team, high standards, fast feedback, real ownership.
- Compensation is competitive and includes carry.
How to apply
Apply directly via the form here or send the following to careers@frachtis.com:
- A 2-5 minute demo video walking us through the agents and AI systems you’ve built. Screen-share the actual things. Show how they work, what they’re for, what you learned building them, what you’d change. Side projects count. Internal tools at past jobs count if you can show them. Polish doesn’t matter; substance does. This is the centerpiece of the application, don’t skip it.
- A 2-page investment thesis on the following prompt: Quantum computing is coming and has significant implications for crypto. As an early-stage investor, what is the thesis? What are the categories worth investing in over the next 3-5 years, and why? Max 2 pages.
- Links to two or three other things you’ve built, written, or shipped: code, essays, market maps, communities, anything where we can see your taste and judgment.
- Your CV. One page where possible.
