Gradient is everything.
Torus is building the agentic engineering tool that physical engineering firms use to build infrastructure 10x faster. We turn design engineering work that took 6 weeks into 6 hours, and we're already working with multiple Fortune 500s and major EPCs on critical infrastructure like data centers and energy installations. We're looking for unusually driven engineers across disciplines. If you build large scale physical infrastructure like data centers, refineries, or chemical plants, we want to work with you. That means process, electrical, mechanical, civil, I&C, piping, structural, and environmental engineers. Ideally you've spent 2 to 5 years at or with EPCs, got frustrated by how they work, and got ignored when you brought up better ways to do it. You're going to help us teach the AI that will create every engineering deliverable in the world, from SLDs and load lists to P&IDs and process packages.
Who we are
Torus was founded in May 2026 by Marcus Lima (CEO) and Rahul Thayil (CTO). Marcus previously founded Heimdal (direct air carbon capture technology and infrastructure); Oxford and Cambridge grad. Rahul previously founded Orion (AI threat intelligence and response automation). We're a team of 6 in San Francisco. You'll be a founding voice for your discipline, the person who makes the agent think like a real engineer in your field. We started Torus because AI can finally do the structured, geometry-heavy work at the core of reindustrialization, and the industry is burning for it. What you'll do You'll build out your discipline end to end, working directly with Fortune 500 clients. You'll turn your own hard-won judgment, the packages and deliverables you know cold, into an agent that produces work engineers actually trust. You'll sit between our software team and our partners, deciding what "correct" means and holding the AI to it. We move fast. In your first week, your input is shaping real agent output. By your first month, you'll own the deliverables the agent generates for a Fortune 500 partner in your discipline, taking work that took weeks down to hours. You'll fit if you

It is a big advantage if you have interacted with claude code or codex already. You will be using these tools.
