The role
- Design and deliver scalable, low-latency streaming and analytics solutions
- Translate business requirements into data models suitable for large datasets
- Support secure, reliable and scalable data services
What you will do
- Build and maintain complex data-processing pipelines
- Write, test and deploy scalable code using Scala, Python and SQL
- Improve slow queries and platform performance
- Work with structured and unstructured data sources
- Monitor live systems and optimise product and platform performance
- Mentor colleagues through practical feedback
What you will bring
- Bachelor's degree in a technical subject such as computer science or mathematics
- At least 3 years' experience with near real-time analytics
- At least 5 years' experience with a modern language such as Scala, Python, Go or TypeScript
- Experience designing complex data pipelines and data models
- Experience with query optimisation and production code
- Kafka experience is advantageous
- An open-minded approach and willingness to share ideas
